Poster Draft 1:
For this poster concept I tried to evoke a sense of empathy from the viewer while also using humour to to make it more engaging. I ultimately didn’t develop this poster further because the message is not immediately obvious and required text to anchor the message. I wanted to make a simpler poster.
Poster draft 2:
Again, with this poster, I wanted to use humour with a more serious message about climate change to draw the viewer in (The Statue of Liberty in the background implies this is NYC). This poster I think is a bit too convoluted and the message is not immediately clear. A more simple poster would be better with this topic.
Poster draft 3:
When making this poster, I wanted to message and symbolism to be a clear and concise as possible, with simple imagery and impact text. A negative of this poster is the flat and cartoonish style that would be better if it were a real/ realistic depiction of a dodo skull.
Poster Final:
I developed the third concept into a finished poster, using a monochromatic colour palette with earthy tones. This poster could benefit from the image being more three-dimensional.
Poster Final (Collage):
The final poster I created was the dodo concept but with collage. Think this is the superior of the two as it incorporates photos of people I found in magazines and so the message is clearer. If I were to do this poster again I would change the background to a different colour (brown or black).
